I was only there once on a road-trip, but their take on Hawaiian pizza was really good. The ingredients tasted fresh, which is a nice change from most food I had on that trip. The crust gets a little soggy, but that's the most difficult part of making a pizza. My slices were appropriately oily for that type of pizza, and not at all heavy. I may have grabbed those slices at just the right time. Pizza places are hard to judge on single stops, but I'd like to try them again if ever back through Staunton.
Also, the walls were covered by work from local artists. If I had a disposable income, I might have picked up a few nice oil pieces. But, alas, I don't, and they were priced appropriately.

This place has a great atmosphere (except for the smoking), and has a great beer selection. They're carrying the brand-new Shooting Creek local brews among others.
The food is about as good as possible… This is one of those places that would have micro-green salads and free range meat if it were on the west coast, but being stuck in Appalachia rather limits what's available and affordable.
Definitely a grad student and postdoc hangout. Relaxed and fun.

Yes, yes, and yes. Great place to sit for a bit when you've been on the road. Everything's made freshly.
I had a great wrap with a nice Caribbean flare. The wrap was listed as spicy, but the spice blended into the flavor perfectly. People who don't like spicy food still would enjoy this wrap. Very well done for a bunch of northern folk. (Yes, I know another review mentions the "deep south", but Virginia's northern to some of us.)
Someday I should be back through for part of the Shenandoah skyline drive, and I know where to stop to put together a delicious picnic. Highly recommended.

Good coffee, nice seating, and fun people both working and drinking. And free wireless. During the right season, you can sit outside and watch white cherry blossoms float past.

Nice. Good coffee (but remember, this is NE Virginia), and a nice atmosphere. The location is great for relaxing.

Oh. My. I should have checked the reviews first. Wow. Amazingly bad. I was suckered in by the promise of Creole / Cajun food and the New Order playing at the door.
The music is tied to a "priced like 1983" special. I think they found items in the freezer *from* 1983. And their decor, well, I hope they went all out and redid everything to match 1983, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's their everyday color choice.
The food? A "pecan" crust made from large chunks of walnut? To be fair, the nuts were so stale that they could have been anything. And on top of seriously freezer burnt catfish. And don't look for vegetables in anything.
That said, the staff was excellent. I should have picked up on their hints about the food. In hindsight, the server's response to my question about which dish is better should have told me to leave.
