For the bar only: Friendly service and strong drinks. Definitely pricey, but they do carry local brews (with their own label) and local distilled drinks… And the bartender was willing to look up and learn how to pour absinthe. St. George's absinthe is a nice celebratory splurge.

The restaurant had many large parties, and I couldn't quite justify trying it with so many other good and inexpensive places nearby. But Berkeley also brings out my stingy grad student mentality.
